Sourate Al-Ikhlas (112:1-4)

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim. Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad. Allahus-Samad. Lam yalid wa lam yulad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born. Nor is there to Him any equivalent.

Virtue

The Prophet ﷺ would blow into his hands while reciting the last three surahs, then wipe his hands over his entire body. To be recited 3 times with Al-Falaq and An-Nas.

Tafsir

Surah Al-Ikhlas equals one third of the Quran as it summarizes pure monotheism. The Prophet ﷺ recited it with Al-Falaq and An-Nas while blowing into his hands then wiping them over his body. This bedtime ritual is a spiritual purification and physical protection through the word of Allah.
