Recommended Fasting (Sunnah)
6 Days of Shawwal
Fasting six days of Shawwal after Ramadan is equivalent to fasting the entire year. The Prophet ﷺ encouraged this voluntary fast.
Monday & Thursday Fasting
The Prophet ﷺ regularly fasted on Mondays and Thursdays. He said: 'Deeds are presented [to Allah] on Mondays and Thursdays, and I like my deeds to be presented while I am fasting.'
White Days (Al-Ayyam Al-Bid)
Fasting on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of each lunar month. The Prophet ﷺ recommended this fast, which is equivalent to fasting the entire month.
