What is Dhikr?
Dhikr (ذكر) refers in Arabic to the remembrance of Allah. It encompasses all forms of mentioning God: reciting the Quran, Prophetic supplications, glorification, praise, and seeking forgiveness. Dhikr is one of the most beloved acts of worship to Allah and among the most accessible for the believer.
Allah says in the Quran:
"Remember Me, and I will remember you." (Al-Baqarah, 2:152)
Benefits Mentioned in the Quran
The Quran mentions numerous benefits of dhikr:

Tips for Daily Practice
To integrate dhikr into your daily life:
- Morning and evening: Recite the morning adhkar after Fajr prayer and the evening ones after 'Asr prayer. These are the most important times.
- After every prayer: Do not neglect the post-prayer invocations: tasbih (SubhanAllah), tahmid (Al-Hamdulillah) and takbir (Allahu Akbar), 33 times each.
- At all times: Dhikr of the tongue is easy and can accompany all your activities: walking, working, commuting.
- With presence of heart: Strive to reflect on the meaning of the words you utter, for the most beneficial dhikr is one that unites the tongue and the heart.
Dhikr is a treasure accessible to everyone, with no conditions of place or ritual purity for most formulas. Make it your daily companion and you will see its fruits, bi-idhnillah.
