بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ فِي الْمَوْهُوبِ لَكَ، وَشَكَرْتَ الْوَاهِبَ، وَبَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ، وَرُزِقْتَ بِرَّهُ

Barakallahu laka fil-mawhubi lak, wa shakarta-l-wahib, wa balagha ashuddahu, wa ruziqta birrah.

May Allah bless you in what He has given you, may you give thanks to the Giver, may the child reach maturity, and may you be granted his righteousness.

Virtue

Congratulatory supplication addressed to the parents at the birth of a child.

Barakallahu lak, wa baraka 'alayk, wa jazakallahu khayran, wa razaqakallahu mithlah, wa ajzala thawabak.

May Allah bless you, may He bestow His blessings upon you, may Allah reward you with good, may He grant you one like him, and may He give you abundant reward.

Virtue

The parent's response to the one congratulating him for the birth of his child.

Al-Bukhari (3371)

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُعِيذُهُ بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

Allahumma inni u'idhuhu bika wa dhurriyyatahu minash-shaytanir-rajim.

O Allah, I seek Your protection for him and his offspring from Satan the accursed.

Virtue

The Prophet ﷺ used to perform tahnik (rubbing the palate of the newborn with a chewed date) and would make this supplication of protection. It is also recommended to call the adhan in the right ear of the newborn.
